In Kenya, like in most developing countries, people with Dementia receive hugely varying levels of care. In Kenya specifically, trained doctors and effective patient-care options are very few or unaffordable.
Therefore, ensuring people with Dementia receive high quality care, provided by appropriately trained professionals and carers, is essential to meeting the challenge of Dementia. Where care is not of sufficient quality, it can have a negative impact for people with Dementia, their families and carers.
To ensure there is improved level of care we have training modules that include;
- Understanding Dementia
- Understanding Alzheimer’s
- Effectively communicating with an Alzheimer’s patient
- Dealing with care giver burn out
- Dealing with behavior change (Aggression)
